Joie N. Lê, PhD
Joie has been an educator for the past 20 years. In that time, she was the Director of Curriculum & Instruction for the Mizel Institute, taught secondary English for six years and continues to teach at the Community College of Denver. After she moved to Colorado from New Mexico, she was an athletic dance coach for over ten years, working with dance teams at various high schools in the Denver Metro area where she coached teams to multiple state championships and national titles. Many of her students have gone on to dance in college, professionally, and with sports teams such as the Broncos Cheerleaders, Nuggets Dancers, Orange Crush Dancers, Rapid Dancers and many more. Many continue to be involved in fitness studios and clubs as instructors or personal trainers. As a dancer, her specialty is hip hop, contemporary, and choreography. Her strength is in training individuals to progress and grow at their own level and mentoring others to achieve personal dance and fitness goals. She has a Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in Culturally Responsive Teaching & Learning from the University of Denver. She specializes in working with at-risk student populations and continues to be an advocate for learning experiences available for everyone.
Scott R. Norby
As a Type 1 Diabetic for 44 years, Scott has learned the impact of establishing healthy habits to assist with managing his diabetes. Two years ago, he endeavored to improve his health and started a nutritional regiment that decreased his weight by 60 lbs. (220 to 160) and reduced his medicinal intake just by making simple changes to his diet, which includes juicing, eliminating large amount of processed foods and sugars, and incorporating other lifestyle changes into his fitness regiment. As a result of his overall fitness and health improvement, he is passionate about helping others find a way to improve their eating habits through making simple nutritional changes. He is working on his certification for nutritional coaching to help provide consulting on wellness initiatives, especially for those with diabetes or who just want to get started with more healthy eating habits. He hopes to coach others as they improve their health and fitness and be a sounding board for those who struggle with weight loss or diabetes-related issues. Scott manages a sales team in the legal segment of Thomson Reuters, coaching the team throughout the United States and Canada. He has been with the company since 1999.
