HIP HOP

Hip Hop

One of the most popular dance styles taught today because it incorporates athleticism, musicality, style, and popular music. While there are a variety of styles within the hip hop/breaking genres which make it seem challenging, anyone can learn to dance hip hop. It is an upbeat and focused workout that is fun for all ages.

Participants should wear comfortable workout clothing (sweats or similar) and good shoes.

 BALLET

Ballet

As the foundation of many dance genres, ballet offers strength training, enhanced flexibility, core balance, body awareness, and is foremost in being a stepping stone to building proper dance technique. We will be offering basic ballet classes to start and will be adding more advanced classes in the future.

Participants should wear tights or leggings, a more form-fitting top and either ballet shoes or socks. Hair should be pulled back.

What to bring: H2O bottle, footwear.

 CONTEMPORARYL/JAZZ

Contemporary & Jazz

Contemporary and Jazz offer the chance to incorporate freedom of expression, flexibility, dance technique, and fast or slow-paced movement into choreography. One does not have to be formally trained in ballet to get started in these genres as many of the techniques (such as turns or leaps) can be learned in this class as well. Classes in these genres will alternate and be available for all levels.

Participants must have a jazz or dance-type shoe for jazz class and bare feet, lyrical shoe, or socks for lyrical class. (Our floor can be slippery.) Hair preferably pulled back.

 SPECIALTY

Specialty

There are so many wonderful styles of dance and movement that we could not decide which ones to teach! Therefore, we offer specialty dance classes, including BollyX®, Broadway, or Technique. We want the world of dance to be open and inviting to everyone at any level. Come give a specialty class a go!

Participants should check out the schedule for class offerings and proper attire.
